Annual Gala Uncorked

Proceeds benefit the Derby Community Foundation's Community Enrichment Grant Program. Guests will enjoy wine and beer tasting, find foods prepared by local caterers, fine chocolate, and a live and silent art auction. Attire is cocktail dress.

Spring Into Art

Spring Into Art will include live music and performances by school groups and local artists, interactive art demonstrations, art for sale, farmers market, food trucks and more. We are looking for art vendors/exhibitors who would like to participate. We have space for 25 booths on the Event Lawn. Inclement weather will move activities inside. Event held rain or shine.

Police/Fire Youth Open House

Enjoy a fun afternoon with police and fire activities and tours of the facilities. Meet the police and fire mascots, take photos, and check out the public safety equipment.

Citywide Garage Sale

The Rotary Club of Derby is now organizing the Derby Citywide Garage Sale after Crime Stoppers of Derby organized the sale for 27 years. All proceeds from the Citywide Garage Sale will go into that fund. When you participate, you have less clutter and help Feed a Hungry Child.

Kite Festival

Kite clubs will showcase their skills and introduce you to the world of kite flying. Bring out your own kite and join in the fun with your family. The event also feature mega kites, kite demos, kite making, face painting, a balloon artist, candy drop, DJ, concessions, booths and vendors.

Smoke on the Plains Derby BBQ & Music Fest

This event includes a carnival, live music, KCBS and Backyard BBQ Cook-off, People's Choice Contest, Kid's Activities, Food Trucks, Beer Garden and much more. 

Independence Day Parade

July 4 at 10 a.m.

The parade begins at Panther Stadium, proceeds west on Madison to Georgie, south on Georgie to Market, east on Market to Woodlawn, and ends at Panther Stadium.

Independence Day Celebration

July 4 at 7 p.m.

The City of Derby hosts an Independence Day Celebration at High Park. The event include music, ice cream social, kid's activities, and a fantastic fireworks display. The fun begins at 7 p.m. with fireworks around 9:30 p.m.

National Night Out

Rock River Rapids, 1900 E. James

Enjoy a free night of swimming and fun at Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park. The police and fire/rescue departments have educational displays and there is free ice cream and a bike rodeo.

  • Trees decorated by local residents and organizations will be on display. You may purchase raffle tickets to “vote” for your favorite tree. The drawing for the trees will be at 4 p.m. on Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. Proceeds from ticket sales go toward operation of the Derby Historical Museum.

  • Christmas in the Park a new event that combines Breakfast with Santa, Santa’s Village and carriage rides, will be held on one day at one location. The event will include breakfast, pictures with Santa, a petting zoo with reindeer, holiday-themed inflatable’s, carolers, Christmas crafts and stories, toy train displays, ginger bread house decorating contest and Clydesdale drawn carriage rides throughout the park.
