Pokemon GO

Derby residents are reporting people walking around erratically while looking Pokemon GO
at their cell phones. Officers have conducted numerous interviews to discover individuals, both young and old, are simply searching for Pokémon.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when catching Pokémon GO in the City of Derby:

  1. Please do not play this game while driving. It is dangerous and against the law.
  2. Do not go out alone. Go out with friends or family.
  3. Be aware of your surroundings. It’s easy to get wrapped up and not pay attention to what's going on around you as you look at the screen of your cell phone or tablet.
  4. Parents please talk to your kids about Stranger Danger. You may also want to set limits on where your children may and may not go while playing.
  5. Do not enter private property without the landowner's permission.
  6. Try to stay in well lit areas.
  7. Secure valuables from view and lock your vehicle.
  8. Derby parks are a Pokémon Safe Haven between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Please do not go to the parks when they are closed.
  9. If you witness an individual that is seemingly up to no good do not hesitate to call 911.
  10. Have fun, but most importantly, be safe.
