The relationship between police and citizens is a challenge these days. My colleagues and I in law enforcement are working diligently to enhance our relationship with citizens. One effective program available to do this is the National Night Out program sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch.

March 2016: Love My Job

As a Derby police officer since 2006, recently I was asked why I like the job. Honestly, I feel like what I do makes a difference. A good part of my 10-hour shift is spent helping people, which is gratifying in and of itself. Also, the role I and my fellow officers play helps build a safer and stronger community. Not just because we catch bad guys and solve crimes but also because we help neighbors resolve conflicts, keep parks safe places, and support businesses with fair and effective law enforcement.
