Whether you are staying home this spring break in Derby, or visiting for the first time, fill your spring break with fun using this list of activities all found in Derby. You’ll find something for everyone in your family.
- Third Thursday at Madison Avenue Central Park | Thursday, March 16 from 5 to 8 p.m.
This free, art-focused event is just what you need to wind down during break. Sit back in the Fireside Patio, sip wine from Grace Hill Winery or a drink from Shaken or Stirred Bartending, and enjoy art, jazz, and dinner from a food truck at the City of Derby’s first Third Thursday of the year. The Field Station staff has been working on a roster of fun games, cool activities and roaring new shows in honor of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Enjoy the T-Rex Getaway, a limited time musical featuring T-Rex Hatchlings, the beloved Toddler “T” and the Field Station’s living, breathing roaring Mighty T-Rex. Children ages 5 to 10 years olds can compete in various challenges to see if they have the strength, speed and knowledge to become an Avenger. You may even get to meet a member of the Avengers! Play pickleball, sand volleyball and cornhole for free in the dome from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Enjoy Irish themed activities and menu specials throughout the day, including Green Eggs and Ham breakfast and a green chocolate fountain.
