Fabulous Library

Posted on April 6, 2017 at 8:10 AM by Kristy Bansemer

Do you realize our library is one of the best in the state? I am really proud of it.

There are spaces in the library that will appeal to kids of all ages with board games, LEGOs, puzzles, and computers.

Are you looking for something for the kids to do after school? The library has afternoon programs for everyone from kindergarten to high school. If you have little ones at home during the day, you can take them to the library for storytime fun.

Mark your calendar now for the library’s summer reading program, which kicks off May 30. There are fun programs for the kids and great prizes for reading. Summer reading isn’t just for kids, either. Adults have chances to win weekly prizes for participating.

Adults also can go to book clubs, Pinterest parties, trivia nights, and classes on genealogy, gardening and more. The Derby Business Center is in the library, providing resources for those with a small business or considering starting one. The Derby Police Department provides information at the library about how to keep safe your homes, your teenagers and your businesses.

If you’re not interested in reading, watching movies or TV shows, listening to audiobooks, or playing video games, the library still has services you might need. The public computer lab provides Internet access to anyone with a library card. Fax, notary and passport services are all available at the library as well.

So whether it’s been a few days or a few years since you’ve been to the library, or if you’ve never been, stop in and see just how fabulous our Derby library truly is.
