Derby City Hall & Senior Center to Temporarily Close

Coronavirus

The City of Derby will temporarily close City Hall and the Derby Senior Center after close of business on Tuesday, March 17, as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We will monitor the developing situation and make changes as needed. Staff will continue to work normal schedules and be available by phone and email.

The Derby Dash will continue to provide public transportation, although the maximum number of riders will be reduced from 14 to 7 to ensure appropriate social distancing.

Meetings Taking Place as Scheduled

  • Severe Weather Safety Program, March 16, 6:30 p.m., Derby Public Library
  • Planning Commission Meeting, March 19, 6:30 p.m., Derby City Hall
  • City Council Meeting, March 24, 6:30 p.m., Derby City Hall

We encourage you to watch the two public meetings live on our website, DerbyKS.com/Channel 7 or on Cox Cable Channel 7. They are also available on demand on our website.

Derby Municipal Court
Municipal Court remains open Mon.-Thurs. from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cases will be continued for anyone who reports being sick or appears with obvious signs of illness. If you are ill or uncomfortable coming to court for health reasons, contact court staff at 788-1511 to request a continuance. If represented by an attorney, contact your attorney to arrange a continuance.

The courtroom will be rearranged to create social distancing (chairs six feet apart), and we will disinfect chairs before and after court.

If you have a traffic citation marked as an INFRACTION, call 788-1511 a few days prior to the appearance date to discuss options that may be available without appearing in court.

Recommended ways to pay your tickets are by calling 788-1511, paying online at www.municipalonlinepayments.com/derbyks/utilities or mailing your ticket to Derby Municipal Court, 229 N. Baltimore, Derby, KS 67037.

Payments will be accepted at the Court payment window. If you have questions regarding your court appearance, call 788-1511.
