No Shave November Supports Derby Operation Holiday

No Shave November

The Derby Police Department along with other city employees will participate in “No Shave November” from November 1 to 30. This is a fundraising event for Derby Operation Holiday, which provides food and toys to those in need who live in the Derby school district (USD 260).

Members of the Derby Police Department and city employees can participate by contributing $20 each to Operation Holiday. For this donation they are entitled to the following options during the month of November:

  • Forgo shaving
  • Wear jeans daily (civilian employees; not police officers)

“We expect more than 30 employees to participate,” said Robert Lee, Police Chief. “No Shave November is held for a great cause, especially for those in need during the holiday season.”

As you are out and about, you may notice the appearance of some officers and employees is different since they can grow their facial hair or wear jeans during this time. We encourage you to join us in supporting Derby Operation Holiday by giving food, toys or your time. There will be donations boxes around town, and you are welcome to drop off items at the Derby Police Department and Derby City Hall during regular operating hours.
