Celebrate the Arts in Derby

Mark your calendar for Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to check out Derby's newest event, Spring Into Art, at Madison Avenue Central Park, 512 E. Madison Ave.

This free, family-friendly event will feature live music and performances by school groups and local artists, interactive art demonstrations, art for sale, farmers market, food trucks, local food vendors and more. Food vendors include Derby’s own B.S. Sandwich Press, Park Grounds Coffeehouse, and Drury Ln. Bakery, Flower & Tea Shop plus Hot-2-Trot Gourmet Hot Dogs of Wichita.

“This event celebrates Derby businesses and artists,” said Randy White, Mayor. “It reflects our vision to shop local, shop Derby.”

For artists who would like to participate as vendors, there are a few spots still available for just $25. We have space for 30 booths on the Event Lawn. Learn more and register at www.derbyweb.com/SpringIntoArt.

“Opportunities like Spring Into Art make it easy for the community to get to know their local artists and help artists make a living,” said Marc Durfee, Derby Recreation Commission Art Director. “Madison Avenue Central Park provides a great setting for an art-focused event.”

The event will be held rain or shine. Inclement weather will move most activities inside to The Venue.
