REQUEST FOR BIDS
Rehabilitation of Sanitary Sewer Manholes
Sealed bids for The Rehabilitation of Sanitary Sewer Manholes will be received by the City of Derby, Kansas 67037 until 2:00 P.M.; Tuesday April 18th, 2017 after which all bids received will be evaluated by City staff.
Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope, addressed to the City Clerk of the City of Derby, Kansas. Each sealed envelope containing a bid must be plainly marked on the outside of the envelope as: Bid for the Rehabilitation of Sanitary Sewer Manholes. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the bid must be enclosed in another envelope addressed to the City Clerk, 611 Mulberry, Derby, Kansas 67037.
Approximately 250 vertical feet of 4-foot diameter manhole shall be rehabilitated. The manholes shall be rehabilitated to structurally sound water tight condition through the application of a spray applied, fiber–reinforced cementitious mortar. Fiber –reinforced mortar shall be Strong Seal Systems MS-2A, Quadex QM-1s, or approved equal. The mortar application shall be applied to minimum thickness of one-half inch at all locations, shall fill all voids and eliminate inflow, infiltration, and exfiltration. The bid price for the rehabilitation shall include all cleaning and preparation work required to rehabilitate the manholes in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications of the product used. All work shall be completed no later than October 31, 2017. Contractors will be required to leave all work areas in the same or better condition than prior to commencement of work.
Payment shall be made based on the actual number of feet rehabilitated, and shall be made no later than 30 days after the completion of all work and receipt of invoice. Contractors are required to familiarize themselves with the manhole locations and condition prior to submitting a bid. No extra payment will be made for site conditions that could have been evaluated prior to bidding.
Bids must be good for a period of 60 days.
The City reserves the right to further negotiate with respondent suppliers and to reject any or all bids.
