PROJECT
OWNER: DERBY DESTINATION DEVELOPERS, LLC ADDRESS: 7007 APACHE DRIVE, SHAWNEE, KANSAS 66226

A sealed BID for the construction of Public Project No. 1 – East Freedom Street, Public Project No. 2 – West Freedom Street, Public Project No. 3 – Waterline Improvements, Public Project No. 4 – Sanitary Sewer Improvements & Private Project No. 1 – Derby Destination: Drive, Site & Storm to serve DERBY DESTINATION DEVELOPMENT ADDITION, DERBY, SEDGWICK COUNTY, KANSAS will be received by Derby Destination Developers, LLC c/o Renaissance Infrastructure Consulting at 5015 NW Canal Street, Suite 100, Riverside, Missouri 64150 until 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2017.  Bids received after this time will not be accepted.  Sealed BIDS shall be opened and read aloud at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Derby City Hall, 611 N. Mulberry Road, Derby, Kansas 67037. The project is briefly described as follows:

The project includes a variety of civil infrastructure improvements including but not limited to the following; excavation including detention, compaction for net haul-in site, asphalt pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline and appurtenances, landscaping, erosion and sediment control, traffic signalization and coordination with various dry utilities.

Copies of plans and specifications can be seen or purchased for a Non-Refundable fee on-line at www.drexeltech.com in their eDistribution plan room, additional assistance is available at . Information regarding this project can be found in the “Public Jobs” link on the website. Contractors desiring the Contract Documents for use in preparing bids may also obtain a set of such documents from Drexel Technologies; 10840 West 86th Street, Lenexa, KS  66214, telephone number is 913-371-4430.  Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges.  Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc.

Direct all questions regarding this bid to Mr. Anthony Philipsheck, Project Engineer, Renaissance Infrastructure Consulting (913) 317-9500.  All questions must be submitted to the ENGINEER in writing by 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2017.  Responses to all questions will be made available to all plan holders of record via addenda issued no later than 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Derby City Hall,
611 N. Mulberry Road, Derby, Kansas 67037.  Attendance at the Pre-Bid Meeting is not mandatory.
 
The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive technical defects in bids, and to select the bid deemed most advantageous to the OWNER.

Nondiscrimination in Employment
Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President’s Executive Order No.
11246.   Requirements for bidders and contractors under this order are explained in the specifications.

Proposals must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check, or bid bond is acceptable to the OWNER in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal.  Checks are to be made payable to the OWNER and drawn on a solvent Kansas Bank or Trust Company. These checks or bonds are to be retained by the OWNER until the contract for the project shall have been awarded.

Bidders shall observe the provisions of the Kansas Act Against Discrimination (K.S.A. 44-1001 et seq.); the Kansas Age Discrimination In Employment Act (K.S.A. 44-1111 et seq.) and the applicable provision of the Americans With Disabilities Act (42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.) as well as all other federal, state and local laws, ordinances and regulations applicable to this Project and to furnish any certification required by any federal, state or local laws, ordinances and regulations applicable to this Project.
