4th of July Events in the City of Derby
Fireworks Rescheduled for Saturday, August 28, 2010
The fireworks have been scheduled as a joint program with Summerfest
- Summerfest begins at 5:00 p.m.
- Ice Cream Social, 7:00 p.m.
- Fireworks, 8:30 p.m.
All events will take place at High Park, 2700 E. Madison.
Red, White & You Blood Drive
July 1-3, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

All those who donate will receive free admission to the zoo (redeemable through 7/5/10), $4 admission tickets for immediate family members (redeemable through 7/5/10), and a Red, White & You T-shirt.
Derby Kiwanis Pancake & Sausage Breakfast
Saturday, July 3
7:30-11:30 a.m.
Derby Recreation Center, 801 E. Market
Purchase tickets in advance by calling Clark Wise at 788-2685 or Jackie Byers at 776-0339. Advance tickets are $4/adults and $2/children 12 and under. Tickets purchased at the door are $4.50/adults and $2.50/children 12 and under. Proceeds will go towards youth services.
4th of July Parade
Saturday, July 3 at 10:00 a.m.
Sponsored by the Derby VFW and American Legion.
Due to construction on Madison Ave., the parade route has changed. The route begins at Derby Middle School, proceeds west on Market to Woodlawn, south on Woodlawn to Kay, west on Kay to Georgie, north on Georgie to Market and east on Market to the DMS parking lot.

Firecracker Run 1 Mile and 4 Mile
Sunday, July 4
4M begins at
7:30 a.m., 1M begins at 8:30 a.m.
High Park, 2700 E. Madison (north shelter)
Sponsored by the Derby Running Club.
The entry fee is $20/adults and $15/kids 12 and under. Enter both races for $25. Registration on race day is an additional $5.

Independence Day Celebration - CANCELLED

Fireworks set to begin at approximately 9:40 p.m.

The City of Derby's Independence day Celebration includes an ice cream social sponsored by Hiland, classic summer music, patriotic readings, a performance by the Derby Community Choir at 9 p.m., and a fantastic fireworks show at approximately 9:40 p.m.
