City Prepares for Street Projects
October 9, 2009

Beginning October 19, the City of Derby will begin work on its mill and overlay projects included in the city’s 2009 Pavement Management Program.

A number of residential streets will receive a facelift, along with Rock Road from James to just south of Chet Smith. Work on Rock Road is expected to begin October 19 and last approximately 30 days, weather permitting. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times and no detours will be necessary.

Other streets that will be resurfaced include Marguerite Parkway; Emma St., Main St. and Washington Ave. from K-15 to Georgie; Chestnut Rd.; Hackberry Rd.; Willow Dr.; Redwood Rd.; Woodlawn Heights Ct.; Woodlawn Heights Rd.; and Meadowhaven Ln.

Woodlawn, from Patriot Ave. to Tall Tree and Tall Tree on the south side of Derby Hills Elementary will be receive crack repair and patching work, with milling and overlay work for this section of road scheduled for 2010.

Next spring, Madison Ave. from K-15 to Rock Road, will be resurfaced. More information will be available in coming months.
