Planning/Zoning

Planning personnel are responsible for regulatory review of all zoning and subdivision issues to ensure compliance with the City's Comprehensive Plan.

The City Planner works closely with developers to ensure compliance with the city’s subdivision regulations and zoning ordinances. This includes all platting, zoning requests, annexation, site plans reviewed by the Planning Commission and City Council.

Recent accomplishments include amendments to the City's Zoning Ordinance, including the addition of a new B-2A Buckner Business District and extensive changes to the B-5 and B-3 zoning districts to be more compliant with the Department of Defense guidelines, and updating subdivision regulations to streamline the platting process.

The City Planner also oversees the Code Enforcement and Building Trades divisions.
