Fire & Rescue

 Message from Chief Turner

I’m honored to serve as the sixth Fire Chief for the City of Derby. Our department takes great pride in supporting our growing community. We believe in time tested, proven, legacy, fire ground tactics, with respect for the traditions of the fire service and those that have served before us.

To help us meet the challenges of being one of the fastest growing cities in the region, we have a strong network of auto and mutual aid agreements with area departments we frequently work with and serve as one cohesive team. We are members of the Kansas Search and Rescue Task Force #5 and Sedgwick & Sumner County Wildland Task Forces. Our members are available to deploy to assist with state and national emergencies.

Derby Fire & Rescue is dedicated to continuous improvement and the ability to adapt to change. We put our citizens first with a goal of zero fire fatalities every year. Our firefighters are here to make a positive impact at any minor or major emergency we may face. We are “Derby Proud” and strive to provide excellent service to our city every day.
