The Investigations Section is comprised of one detective sergeant, who is responsible for overall supervision of the section, and four detectives. The section is responsible for the investigation of criminal cases, collection, analysis, and preservation of evidence, and filing of criminal charges through district and municipal courts.
Case Work
The Investigations Section handles approximately 1,800 cases annually. Detectives work closely with the Patrol Division and other agencies, such as the District Attorney’s Office, Medical Examiner’s Office, Kansas Bureau of Investigation, and other local, state, and federal agencies in the course of investigating a variety of cases.
